Venous Disease

PEI & You

PEI has been distributing medical products in the Irish market for over 50 years, working with world class manufacturers across a range of medical conditions including cardiac, orthopaedic, sleep and respiratory and pain management, and brings these products to clinicians right across the Irish healthcare system.

We look at our products through the eyes of our customer, working to reduce risk in order to ensure better patient outcomes. We are focused on our customer and patient needs which drives our innovation and new product introductions.

In 2013, PEI began distributing the VenaSeal™ Closure System from Sapheon …. an improved treatment option for varicose veins.

VenaSeal is a revolutionary solution that offers significant benefits to existing treatment options for varicose veins. Unlike thermal ablation and other procedures, VenaSeal does not require tumescent anaesthesia, post procedure compression stockings and patients can immediately resume normal activities.

Varicose veins are impaired veins in the leg due to valves not closing properly. They are very common, affecting an estimated 40% of women and 25% of men. The appearance of varicose veins can range from twisted, bulging, rope-like cords to small spider veins and can occur anywhere from the groin to the ankle.

The VenaSeal Sapheon Closure System uses a patient friendly safe-for-the-body medical adhesive to safely and effectively close the diseased vein segment. The procedure can be performed in an office-based setting with no down time, and rapid relief of symptoms.
