Ansell highlights hospitals as one of the most hazardous places to work

In a recent article from Ansell Healthcare in their InTouch Newsletter, the interesting question is posed if the reader knows that a hospital is one of the most hazardous places to work.

Healthcare providers are exposed to a wide range of health risks and hazards, including bloodborne pathogens, latex and chemical allergies, ergonomic injuries, sharp injuries, respiratory and chemical exposures, and x-ray hazards to name a few.

Although it is possible to prevent or reduce healthcare worker exposure to these hazards, healthcare workers continue to experience injuries and illnesses at an alarming rate. Ansell's InTouch Newsletter addresses the ergonomic challenges related to working in the operating room environment and outlines strategies for improving OR safety.
